Scuba diving developed out of man's drive to survive and learn
more about life underwater and discover the “underwater
world.” Scuba diving has been viewed as a type of scientific
research exploration before it became a recreational activity.
The term SCUBA, stands for a Self Contained
Underwater Breathing Apparatus, an open-circuit apparatus
allowing the user to breath air contained in a tank, and then
placed over the back of divers. PAL members will be able to
get away from the hustle and bustle of city life and
experience the simplicity and surrealism of life in this
“underwater world.”
During a 1-day a week class including pool
sessions over a course of about 3 months, and a “check-out”
dive in Monterey California, Nautilus Aquatics along with
Officer Yanuska and other volunteer officers, will take you on
the underwater adventure of a lifetime (which most people
never get a chance to see or experience).
This adventure is an opportunity for young
people to learn about themselves, build confidence,
self-discipline, and educate themselves in the importance of
environmental aquatic conservation, all away from their
typical pressures and temptations. You do not need to be an
athlete or an experienced diving enthusiast to go on one of
our adventures. All you need is desire to succeed and grow
yourself personally.
