PAL Rugby Team Makes It to Nationals!

The San Mateo PAL Warriors headed to the USA Rugby High School National Championships in Salt Lake City, Utah!

The San Mateo Police Activities League (PAL) Warriors Rugby Team placed #1 in the NorCal Division Rugby League and just returned from their incredible trip to the National Playoffs in Utah.

We congratulate the team on their fantastic season as they won one playoff game and returned home as one of the top 4 teams in the U-19 Division of USA Rugby for the Nation! An incredible showing after just 3 years as a team, as many of the youth overcame personal and academic challenges to earn a chance to compete. They have achieved great successes both on and off the field!

When notified of their invitation to the National Championships, the San Mateo Police Activities League had only two weeks' notice to raise the money needed to send all 40 boys and their coaches to represent San Mateo at the National Championships in Utah. The PAL Board, along with the team members and their families sprang into action and our generous community raised all the needed funds in less than two weeks.

San Mateo PAL and the entire team give special thanks to all of our Community Partners who dedicated their time and efforts to secure the funding for our San Mateo PAL Warriors to experience the chance of a lifetime.
